Overcoming Challenges in Characterization, Aggregation and Immunogenicity
Achieving stable, safe and effective formulations represents one of the most demanding tasks in biomedical research and pharmaceutical manufacturing today. The Analytical Stream focuses on gaining detailed knowledge of proteins through biophysical and biochemical characterization tools, technologies, and assays as well as how to apply those technologies appropriately to evolve a true analytical. This stream offers insights into the mechanisms and prevention of protein aggregation and examines factors that contribute to immunogenicity, the development of predictive tools and approaches to overcome this problem. Whether one’s interests lie in protein characterization or analytics, the study of protein aggregation-induced adverse effects or immunogenicity, or work in formulation and process development for protein-based therapeutics, the Analytical Stream at PEGS 2012 will provide a comprehensive real-world perspective on this challenging arena.
